A Critique of Monism, Reflections
on Plato's Republic
|
In this book I offer a defense of the open mind, the open society, and the open universe. As such, it is also a defense of pluralism, liberty, and the good by means of a series of critical reflections on the monistic presupposition in Plato's Republic. In exposing fundamental errors in Plato's thinking, I believe I can set the philosophical foundations for liberty in logic, metaphysics, and mathematics. What emerges from this analysis is an entirely general theory of the invisible hand. Liberty, on my account, is entrenched not only in the nature of man but also in the nature of nature.
